Sure, if you want to step up your advertising game you really have to be on top of things and pay attention to what your competitors are doing, but it’s also really important to make sure that your brick and mortar store is well advertised. One of the best ways to increase the advertising at your business is to add effective signs, and here are three things you need to know about them.
They work.
Some people think that because signs are such an old form of advertising that they simply aren’t relevant anymore, but that’s really not the case. Small businesses actually gain about half of their local customer base through the use of signs. People will notice, and people will be more likely to come into your business if they know exactly what you do and where you are.
Business sign design matters.
Simply having signs is not necessarily good enough. Design matters not just for visibility purposes but also because people are going to judge your business based on the signs you put up outside. Here are a couple of things to think about when designing a custom sign: 1) adding light and color can help promote brand recognition, and 2) every one inch of letter height equals about 10 feet of viewing distance.
Protection is important.
Small business signs are some of the cheapest signs of advertising, but actually buying them is an investment that you don’t want to end up needing replacement in a year or so. If the sign is electric, all of the wires should be housed in a protective coating and the seams sealed with silicone. Additionally, if the sign is going to be exposed to UV rays, a protective coating should be applied to the outside surfaces.
