Beginning on Tuesday, February 10, the Spokane Teachers Credit Union will kick off a new series of workshops for 2015 called “Organize Your Finances.” The workshops are part of the free My Life, My Money workshop series and are aimed at helping community members improve the organization of their files and money.
The February 10 workshop will be held at the Moran Prairie Library, located at 6004 S. Regal St. in Moran Prairie, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The workshop will also include a light dinner served beforehand, so participants are urged to bring a friend and arrive early.
A team of STCU experts will lead the workshop, which will delve into topics such which financial records to keep and for how long, what to keep in case of a disaster, and where to go for financial planning help. The workshop will also tell participants how to develop their own efficient bill-paying systems, such as through the use of fast and easy electronic billing platforms.
In addition to the February 10 “Organize Your Finances” workshop in Moran Prairie, STCU will host two more in February and two more in April at area libraries. All workshops will include a light meal.
The second workshop will take place the next day on Wednesday, February 11 from noon to 1 p.m. at the Couer d’Alene Library, located at 702 E. Front St.
The three remaining workshops will all take place from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. The Tuesday, February 17 workshop will be held at the Shadle Library at 2111 W. Wellesley Ave.; the Tuesday, April 7 workshop will be located in the South Hill Library at 3324 S. Perry St.; and the final workshop on Thursday, April 23 will be held at the North Spokane Library at 44 E. Hawthorne Rd.
